Hmm… not much to tell, i’m afraid. I’m eating ice cream but still feel a bit warm in the stomach. Maybe it is the tiny fever i had yesterday and today. No, i’m sure it is something else. At least i know that i’m looking forward to go back to Iceland! No, longing for it! Längta längta!

Summer, as far as i remember, has been rather cold and uneventful. The day after i wrote my last post (on the 2nd, that is) my brother turned 30. Great party! I still haven’t finished his lopapeysa (because of laziness, nothing else) that i planned to give him but he seemed happy anyway. The weather was good and the garden was green.

I’ve been to the countryside (the other place, not the island. The Inland Empire – ha ha), been to Småland, been hanging out with friends, lost my wallet and gotten it back, lost two cameras but might know where they are, gone shopping, collected heather and sorted out some clothes i will never use again anyway.
Today me and Karl went to the opening of the Art Biennial, made tortellinis w. mushrooms, watched an episode of Dr. Snuggles and went to fetch the lizard scull i had found on the heather hill.
Tomorrow i will probably do something else.

summer days

Being back in Sweden is quite alright. I’m tanned, hungry, with clean hair for once and longing for making another lopapeysa. A thick grey one for me or my brother.
Tomorrow we’ll go to the countryside which will be very good indeed. I’ve been far too drunk far too many times lately, not to mention weeks (months?) i’ve been drinking too often, so going up on the west coast for two weeks only taking with me one kilo of Icelandic wool and many kilos of books couldn’t hurt at all.
Oh! And my new camera. My sweet sweet Konica TC with flash and zoom lens that i bought in Kolaportið not long ago.

Påskmust! My mum bought me a bottle. It is good. I am happy.

I have a feeling that my camera is female. I don’t know why, probably because of some old gender-related prejudices i thought i didn’t have, but I’m sure she and i will have great adventures together! When i won’t be playing with my Polaroid (tack Emil, den har varit världens snällaste!), that is.

Time to cook.

I think, i hope, that i finally got a job. Which is great, since i seem to be one of those who are not well being unemployed. All play and no work makes Malva a dull girl
(oh! New flashback: me and Theresa were on the dancefloor at Sirkus singing along to Beck – Sexx Laws. I haven’t danced as much in ages..)
(ah! Midnite Vultures; such a good record! It is a forgotten favourite of mine that i have to buy/put on my birthday present wishlist asap. My newest favourite is Daniel Johnston. Quite different from Beck but quite quite good. Absolutely brilliant, actually. Stebbi had the documentary about him; we watched it yesterday. Johnston’s art reminded me of Halldór's, who I will hopefully meet on thursday, and inspired me to be more creative. Tonight i finished another hat - huge one on request).

On request: a New Post.

To be honest, i’ve been too good to be writing in my blog all days. Working more than ever, yes, but also reading and eating very much.
And i didn’t know what to write. What do you want to hear?

Knitting is going well; i started on my second mitten yesterday. My grandfather died a week ago without any warning and we are all, still, very surprised. Relatives came over on the weekend and we talked and celebrated my father who was turning 59. Sunday afternoon i remembered very well. I finished Small Gods and begun reading Myndin af Dorian Gray.
Sofa, thick blanket, tea, candy and books until evening-time.
Tomorrow i’ll work for the seventh day in a row, not that i mind, and go to a concert with Lustans Lakejer at the train station.
Today i’ve been looking at videos with talking cats and farting babies on youtube.
We’ve had really good weather now for some days with lots of blue sky and the occasional glimpse of the sun. No wind, sometimes light rain.
I like Military Fashion show by And One because it reminds me of my favourite club here in Gautaborg, and Enjoy the Unknown because it is kind of irresistible.

Oh yeah, and i’m going to study… logics? in spring. On a distance so that i can move whenever i want to.

You’re damn right i’m disappointed in mankind. This weekend i’ve met friends who have been cheated on and betrayed, and even though i’m not as naïve as i was one week ago and slowly start to realize that this is actually quite common i still don’t understand why people do it. Seriously, is it not enough having one person to sleep with? Is it really worth it? I don’t think so but on the other hand, as far as i know, i don’t have any personal experience of it.

ARRGH! This hat will not be knitted by love but of anger, and i will finish it tonight and post the pictures tomorrow. Until then; take care of each other and sleep well.
